Deut 30:4-6 says this…
4 If any of you have been driven out to the furthest parts of heaven, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there he will bring you: 5 And the LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, and you shall possess it; he will prosper you and multiply you more than your fathers. 6 And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart, and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, that you may live.’
We have to recognize that this is the century He is talking about, before the Messiah comes back. This prophesied that we would come returning to the covenant and after that and only then he would take us all to the land as he is right, spotless, as well as pure. He is not having a spotted bride back to His chambers, he must purify us 1st, that is why they expended 40 years in the delicacy.
They did not just stroll right and walk into the promise land. They have left Egypt but they still have a lot of Egypt within them.
